Smoked Meats for Winter (Europe & Middle East)

People smoked and salted meat so it could last through cold winters—early refrigerators!

Sourdough Bread (Europe)

Bakers figured out how to make bread rise using natural yeast, making it fluffier and tastier!

1300 AD / CE

Sweet Treats & Marzipan (Middle East & Europe)

People mixed sugar and almonds to create marzipan, one of the first candy-like sweets!
